Easter Reflections: Connection, Compassion, and Carving out Space for You

Easter can stir up a mix of emotions-joy, reflection, grief, or even indifference. For some, it's a sacred time steeped in religious tradition and family gatherings. For others, it might simply be a long weekend, a chance to breathe, or even a time that highlights loneliness or disconnection.

In today's world, where traditional meanings are blending with modern lifestyles, Easter has become less about rituals and more about reconnection - with loved ones, nature, or with ourselves. Whether you're surrounded by family, spending time alone, or somewhere in between, this season can be a gentle invitation to slow down, tune in, and offer yourself a little extra care.

Personally, I am looking forward to having a few extra hours up my sleeve. Of course, my go to is spending quality time in my studio. So this Easter I am having a whole day just for painting with an artist friend, listening to music and eating yummy home cooked meals.

In the past Easter has always been a time for outdoor family picnics and easter egg hunts; I must admit it's nice to indulge in a few chocolates around this time. And if you can't be with family, Easter can still be meaningful- a time to nurture your own heart, connect with chosen family, friends or community, and create space for the things that bring you peace and joy.
