About Jo
A lifelong passion as an artist and working 30 years in the health setting has led Jo to pursue a career as an art therapist and counsellor.
Jo has witnessed the healing power of art from young children to the elderly, and the ability to express creatively through various mediums as a connection to our inner self.
I offer online and home visit counselling sessions for both teens and women, providing a safe, supportive space to explore challenges, emotions, and personal growth from the comfort of your own home.
Art therapy is a true passion of mine. I have seen firsthand how the creative process can unlock emotions, soothe the nervous system, and support lasting change. Using art media as a tool, clients are able to express where there may be no words to explain how one is feeling.
Sessions are tailored to meet your unique needs, blending conversation, reflection, mindfulness and creativity to help you feel understood, and empowered on your journey in life.
Jo believes everyone has the potential to tap into their creativity to find solutions and overcome emotional, psychological and physical concerns. Art and Art therapy are valuable tools for self-expression and healing, and support individuals in developing healthy lifestyle routines.
As the founder of Brush with Heart, Jo is both compassionate and enthusiastic when it comes to inspiring people of all ages to believe in themselves. Brush with Heart developed as a natural culmination of many years as a practicing artist, and further studies in psychotherapy and counselling to meet the needs of mental health.
Jo helps empower women and teens, and facilitate self-discovery towards growth, in achieving their full potential in life. Jo has extensive experience supporting those with PTSD, trauma, anxiety and depression.
Life is full of ups and downs and if you are curious how online counselling or Art therapy can support you, try a 15 minute free phone call to see whether this feels right for you.
Thank you

It's time for a 2026 Vision Board

-
It's that time again to make a vision board, something I do every new year.
-
Create a vision board for the new year to set intentions and stay focused on your goals.
-
I prefer to use a collage-style layout where you choose your pictures and words from a magazine and glue them onto a piece of cardboard.
-
Words that resonate with you serve as a daily reminder and reinforce positive thinking.
-
Use images that you have a strong connection to and relate to your goals.
-
Write one overall word that inspires you from your vision board or a reflection in sentences.
-
You will be surprised how enlightening your New Year Vision board is! Keep it close enough to admire>
