About Jo

A lifelong passion as an artist and working 30 years in the health setting has led Jo to pursue a career as an art therapist and counsellor.

Jo has witnessed the healing power of art from young children to the elderly, and the ability to express creatively through various mediums as a connection to our inner self.

Jo believes everyone has the potential to tap into their creativity to find solutions and overcome emotional, psychological and physical concerns. Art and art therapy are valuable tools for self-expression and healing and support individuals in developing healthy lifestyle routines around creativity.

As a counsellor Jo is committed to providing a personalized service, helping to guide individuals through challenges, exploring their inner thoughts, feelings and goals and encouraging change. This integrated approach values the therapeutic benefits of art and creativity.

As the founder of Brush with Heart, Jo is both compassionate and enthusiastic when it comes to inspiring people to believe in themselves. Brush with Heart developed as a natural culmination of all these skills and experiences offering clients support, and positively impacting their lives.

Jo specializes in empowering women, helping to express themselves and gain insight into emotional and psychological needs for transformative change. Her creativity thrives with intuitive creative art workshops and her group programs for anxiety and resilience are inspiring and informative.

Jo teaches art to children and adults and you can access these creative sessions through NDIS as well.

Have you made your 2025 Vision Board?

20250101_150331.jpg
  • It's that time again to make a vision board, something I do every new year.

  • Create a vision board for the new year to set intentions and stay focused on your goals.

  • I prefer to use a collage-style layout where you choose your pictures and words from a magazine and glue them onto a piece of cardboard.

  • Words that resonate with you serve as a daily reminder and reinforce positive thinking.

  • Use images that you have a strong connection to and relate to your goals.

  • Write one overall word that inspires you from your vision board or a reflection in sentences.

  • You will be surprised how enlightening your New Year Vision board is! Keep it close enough to admire>
